LASER is a national program, founded in 2008 by cultural historian Piero Scaruffi under the aegis of Leonardo/ISAST (International Society for the Arts, Sciences and Technology), which brings artists and scientists together for informal presentations and conversation with an audience. Each evening event, free of charge and open to the public, presents artists, scientists, thinkers, inventors, and scholars who are working on paradigm shifts. People in the audience are also encouraged to briefly introduce their own work.
