Public speaking ranks among the world's most common fears, right up there with heights and spiders. Fortunately, confident communication can be learned. Designed for reluctant speakers, this course pairs the enduring principles of classical rhetoric with repeated, low-pressure speaking opportunities in a supportive environment. You'll learn to organize ideas, tell engaging stories, and build persuasive arguments, bringing them to life through movement, gesture, and body language. You'll also learn techniques for calming your body, redirecting nervous energy, and regaining your footing when you lose your train of thought. Every session offers a chance to speak and receive thoughtful feedback as you grow more at ease in front of others. The goal isn't to eliminate nervousness but to manage it, so that the next time you have something important to say, you're ready to say it in your own voice.

Advanced-level proficiency in spoken English is required.
