Most organizations are optimizing existing work when they should be transforming how work gets done. Layering AI onto existing workflows can produce incremental gains, but true transformation requires rethinking roles, decisions, workflows, and the balance between human judgment and AI agents.
This course gives organizational decision-makers a practical framework for making that shift.
Participants will learn to:
- Distinguish optimization from transformation and assess where their organization stands
- Map human roles and decisions to determine where judgment is essential and where agents can take on work
- Apply a repeatable methodology to redesign a real workflow
- Develop a practical plan for leading human-agent teams and broader organizational transformation
No technical background is required. This course will demonstrate third-party AI tools that are not managed or supported by Stanford. Students can explore these tools on their own if they like, but use is optional. Many tools offer free versions or trials; paid subscriptions, if chosen, typically range from $25–$100 per month. See the syllabus for more details.
