Company leaders and managers need to understand their organization’s financial condition so they can secure resources to support their projects and develop new strategies to increase their bottom line. This course introduces basic financial terms and practical tools for business decision-making. You’ll learn the structure and analysis of financial statements, the interaction between the balance sheet and cash flows, the decision process of investments, basic business valuations, and budget preparations. We also discuss what you need to know in order to make the right decisions on investments and how to create and interpret business plans. The course includes relevant case examples and opportunities to engage in lively discussions and hands-on activities that will help you learn how to read, understand, and prepare financial information. By the end, you’ll be able to set up and interpret basic profit and loss statements and balance sheets, understand the rules of cash flow in the world of finance, and make a business plan or investment case.
