Are you ready to strengthen your communication skills and speak with greater confidence? Communication is shaped by our identities, life experiences, and the social contexts we inhabit. While effective communication comes easily to some, for many it is a learned practice that unfolds through self-awareness and growth. This course empowers students to become confident, purposeful communicators by examining cultural influences, interaction dynamics, and the psychological roots of communication habits.

In this interactive course, we begin by exploring the sources of fear and identifying personal triggers that influence our communication. Students will gain insight into the neurobiology and psychology of stress and the fight-or-flight response in interpersonal situations. Through lectures, discussion, and guided practice, we will uncover unconscious patterns that limit effectiveness and learn practical strategies for responding thoughtfully rather than reactively. By the end of the course, students will have greater self-awareness, an understanding of the neurobiology of rejection, and tools for practicing empowered, confident communication in everyday life.

Advanced-level proficiency in spoken English is required.
