AI is changing how businesses attract customers, develop relationships, and generate revenue. This course explores how entrepreneurs, small-business owners, and marketing leaders can use AI to strengthen marketing and sales without adding significant resources. You’ll examine practical applications across the customer journey, from AI-assisted messaging and content creation to lead generation and CRM automation, automated sales funnels and follow-up sequences, and systems that qualify and nurture leads with minimal day-to-day oversight. Real-world cases illustrate what is possible, including a local service business that reduced lead response time from three days to three minutes using an AI workflow, and a solo founder who created a 90-day content calendar in a single session. Each week combines concise readings and instruction with hands-on application to your own business or a relevant use case. You’ll experiment with AI tools, evaluate where they add value, and develop practical systems you can continue refining after you complete the course.

No technical background is required. This course relies on third-party AI tools that are not managed or supported by Stanford. Students will need to use these tools for assignments. Some tools have free versions or trials, but students may need to upgrade if usage limits are reached. Typical costs range from $25–$100 per month. See the syllabus for more details.
