This hands-on course is designed to introduce beginners to the fundamental techniques, tools, and principles of watercolor painting. We will start with abstract projects to acquaint students with foundational techniques, progress through botanical studies and still-life paintings, and culminate in exploring landscape compositions, ensuring a diverse and enriching learning experience. Throughout the course, students will experiment with various watercolor techniques, including wet-on-wet, dry brush, and glazing, to achieve different effects and textures. They will explore color theory and learn to mix and blend pigments to create vibrant and harmonious compositions. Through guided exercises and projects, students will develop their understanding of composition, light, and perspective and gain confidence in expressing themselves creatively through this versatile medium.
Students must purchase their own art supplies for this course, the cost of which will depend on students’ individual needs.
