Sleep powers nearly every aspect of our lives: our focus and memory, our mood and relationships, our stress levels and long-term health. Yet about one in three American adults doesn't get the recommended amount of sleep. Why is something so essential also so difficult to get right? Better sleep is possible if you know how. It isn't simply a matter of following generic guidelines, but of understanding the principles behind healthy sleep and developing a program tailored to your own physiology and psychology. In this practical course, you'll learn about the research behind healthy, performance-enhancing sleep, run your own sleep experiments, and track the results. We'll also explore how to manage jet lag, use sleep to spark creativity, recognize disorders like sleep apnea, and use technology to help you sleep better and think more sharply.
