Have you ever marveled at the mesmerizing narratives in your favorite podcasts and wondered how they’re crafted? What are the key ingredients that transform a simple story into a captivating audio experience? How can we use sound design, voice, interview tape, and writing to make our stories vivid and compelling?
This course leads students through the process of transforming stories into sound-rich narrative podcast episodes. You will discover how to bring your stories to life, utilizing the power of scriptwriting, the magic of narration, the intricacies of audio editing, and the art of sound design. The course will also delve into the practical tools of the trade. Students will explore Descript, a valuable audio editing and transcription resource, and gain hands-on experience with a digital audio workstation (DAW). Students will leave the course having crafted an engaging episode trailer and will bring home a toolkit brimming with techniques to elevate their future podcasting endeavors.
