Great landscape photography comes down to great light and a great plan, regardless of the image-capture device you choose. Photographs are not found; they are created. In this introductory course, you will learn the basic concepts of landscape photography and how to apply them to the image-capture device of your choosing. This course is open to all photographers, regardless of experience or digital device, but it is tailored to both the beginner who is looking to jump into landscape photography and the general photographer looking for a new challenge. We will cover the basic landscape principles of composition, camera settings, visualization, and finding personal vision. You will be responsible for creating and sharing your work during classroom reviews. You will be exposed to a broad overview of the landscape photography genre and leave with a better understanding of the concepts, tools, and strategies to create beautiful landscape photographs on your own.

The course will not focus on individual cameras or brands, so students will be responsible for understanding their own equipment. The instructor will use Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw and Apple’s Photos program to process images, but students may use any image-processing software.
