Have you ever been interested in dancing hip hop but felt afraid to give it a go? Here’s a chance to learn one of the world’s most popular dance forms in an effortless and enjoyable way with a renowned teacher and choreographer. Hip hop dance is not just a form of movement; it is deeply intertwined with the broader hip hop culture, which includes music and fashion. It is also a highly accessible style. This course is designed to introduce beginning students to hip hop’s vibrant expression of creativity, rhythm, and individuality in a fun and interactive setting. Each class session will begin with a basic dancer’s stretch, including isolations, followed by guided instruction on introductory movements that are easy to grasp for all fitness levels and abilities. As the course progresses, the material will build on itself, and the group will work together through choreographed routines to incorporate movements from several urban and pop styles while integrating influences from other forms, such as jazz, contemporary, Latin, and street. The material students learn will be useful beyond the course; hip hop is frequently used in exercise classes or danced at parties and weddings.
