UPDATE: Cancelled Courses: November 17 & November 18

The message below was sent to the Stanford University community on Thursday night from the Provost’s office:

"Throughout this week, the university has been monitoring the air quality effects from the devastating fires that have occurred in California. While there has been a great deal of variability, there has been a significant increase in smoke in the area around Stanford over the last 24 hours, with official readings beginning to creep into the “very unhealthy” category. Out of an abundance of caution, we have made the decision to cancel classes at Stanford on Friday, November 16"

We have therefore made the decision to follow suit and cancel Continuing Studies courses that are taking place this weekend 11/17 and 11/18. We are currently communicating with instructors regarding the possibility of rescheduling, and will be in touch as soon as we can with updates. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time here and for so many people throughout California.
