Symphony for Nature: The Story of an Extraordinary Collaboration at Crater Lake

Symphony for Nature is an acclaimed documentary film that tells the behind-the-scenes story of how classical musicians joined with indigenous drummers for a stunning performance of Natural History, a new composition by Michael Gordon inspired by Oregon’s breathtaking Crater Lake. The film features the Britt Festival Orchestra and the Klamath Tribes drum group, Steiger Butte Singers, in a spectacular setting considered sacred by the Klamath Tribes.

This program features a screening of Symphony for Nature and a special ceremonial performance by the Steiger Butte Singers. They will be joined by the acclaimed composer Michael Gordon, the Britt Festival Orchestra conductor Teddy Abrams, and filmmaker Anne Flatté. They will share their experience of this collaborative creative journey in a program that promises to be a rich cultural and spiritual evening.
