This program features a screening of Symphony for Nature and a special ceremonial performance by the Steiger Butte Singers. They will be joined by composer Michael Gordon, the Britt Orchestra’s conductor Teddy Abrams, and the filmmaker Anne Flatté. Michael Gordon is one of the most important forces in contemporary music and Teddy Abrams is a rising star in concert halls around the world. They will share their experience of this collaborative creative journey in a program that promises to be a rich cultural and spiritual evening.
Michael Gordon, Co-founder, Bang On A Can Music Festival & Ensemble Michael Gordon has produced a diverse body of work ranging from large-scale works for high-energy ensembles to major orchestral compositions and pieces for the recording studio.
The Steiger Butte Singers The Steiger Butte Singers’ drumming and singing talents have been appreciated for decades and they have toured the United States and throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Teddy Abrams, Musician; Music Director and Conductor, Britt Classical Festival Orchestra; Music Director, Louisville Orchestra Teddy Abrams is an accomplished pianist and clarinetist, and the youngest conductor of a major orchestra in the US.
Anne Flatté, Director; Producer; Filmmaker Anne Flatté is a documentary filmmaker based in San Francisco whose recent work focuses on music and community.
