LASER is a national program, founded in 2008 by cultural historian Piero Scaruffi under the aegis of Leonardo ISAST, which brings artists and scientists together for informal presentations and conversation with an audience. Each evening event, free of charge and open to the public, presents artists, scientists, thinkers, inventors, and scholars who are working on paradigm shifts. People in the audience are also encouraged to briefly introduce their own work.

Speakers for the December 10 LASER event include:
Irina Raicu (Internet Ethics Program Director/Santa Clara Univ) on "The Issues of Internet Ethics"
Margaret Levi (Director of the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences/Stanford) on "The Future of Work in the Age of Intelligent Automation"
Hank Greely (Director of the Center for Law and the Biosciences/Stanford) on "The End of Sex"
Mauro ffortissimo (Media Artist, Poet and Piano Deconstructor) on "What is a Piano?"
