In today’s marketplace, businesses that innovate well are the ones that survive and thrive. Design thinking—a method for pragmatic, creative resolution of problems and identification of new solutions—is key to developing and continually improving products and services that customers really want and need.

In this hands-on course, you will learn design thinking and innovation tools that anyone can use. You’ll learn how to listen, analyze, and quickly map ideas in meetings with simple sketching, and how to replace dull “death by PowerPoint” presentations with visual storytelling. We will also cover proven processes for engaging with customers and turning that research into insights that can be converted into actionable innovations. Techniques like rapid brainstorming, personas, storyboards, and empathy mapping will help you see the world through your customers’ eyes, understand their needs, and come up with real solutions to their problems. Armed with these simple and inexpensive tools and techniques, you will learn how to communicate effectively, uncover opportunities for new products and services, and drive a culture of customer-centric innovation at your organization.

This course includes a non-refundable materials fee of $20 to be paid at the time of registration.

Deb Aoki, UX Designer and Content Strategist

Deb Aoki combines writing, drawing, and design to help drive transformational end-to-end customer experiences. She has worked with PayPal, Sony, eBay, Citrix Systems, and Microsoft, and has taught workshops in North America and Japan.
