Fundraising is both an art and a science. It is a creative process that involves an understanding of people as well as the need to have measurable goals and objectives. This one-day interactive workshop will emphasize that organizations need to be “donor centric” and need to remember that fundraising is about the donor and ultimately about relationships. The workshop will focus on the importance of individual donors and their needs, and in this context, we will examine the principles and fundamentals of fundraising and philanthropy. You will learn the what, how, and why of fundraising and its importance to nonprofit organizations. You will hear from philanthropists about why they give and what motivates them to give. Executives in the nonprofit world will discuss how their organizations work to align their “ask” with donors’ objectives in order to achieve successful fundraising results.

Come ready to work, learn, and share. This workshop will be taught in an active learning style that will include projects for individuals and groups. By the end of the workshop, you will possess the tools needed to be a (mostly) successful fundraiser.

This workshop is for board members, staff, volunteers, and anyone interested in learning how to fundraise.
