Having the tools and technical skills to conduct data analysis and create visualization is no longer enough to succeed in today’s complex business world. In situations where everyone must deal with an overwhelming amount of data, the ability to create and communicate data analysis through compelling, actionable stories is a must-have, not only for managers but also for everyone working in analytics and data professions.

In this course, you will discover the power of storytelling and ways to make data play a pivotal role in your stories. You will learn the fundamentals of data visualization and how to use data to communicate effectively. You will master these and other crucial points: understanding the importance of context and audience (What problems are you trying to solve? Why? How does this matter to the business?); developing frameworks for creating smart visualization charts; directing your audience’s attention to the most important parts of your insights; and leveraging the power of storytelling so that your message resonates with your audience. With the skill sets you will acquire in this course, you will take the steps from merely analyzing data to bringing data-derived insights to the table and to telling a compelling story that can drive organizational actions.

This course is designed for students with little or no experience in data analysis.
