Each person has a unique speaking voice. This experiential workshop uses business coaching and acting techniques to help speakers unlock their natural talents and find their authentic voice. Students will learn to claim the stage, project a sense of presence, and most of all, truly engage an audience. The course will offer a lively combination of speechwriting techniques, as well as skill-building vocal and physical exercises, helping students to find new ways of turning nervousness into positive energy.

Each student will present at least four formal and informal speeches, beginning with personal topics and then moving into their specific areas of interest. Rehearsal techniques that allow you to truly know your material (without memorizing it) will be presented and rigorously practiced. One-on-one coaching will be used to set individualized home exercises so you can practice leveraging your strengths and overcoming your weaknesses. In this course, you will discover your unique, dynamic way of speaking in your authentic voice.
