According to a recent article in Fortune, female employees are more likely than male employees to be told by managers (of any gender) to “watch their tone” or that they are “coming on too strong.” Ultimately, cultural change is needed in order to rewire responses that judge women differently from men for exhibiting the same behavior. In the meantime, however, women can develop some navigation strategies to neutralize the impact of these biases. These strategies can help you feel calmer and more confident under pressure, refine your ability to project gravitas, and develop greater comfort saying “no.” Body language plays a critical role in your ability to persuade and influence others. In this course, you will discover how to use your body language to communicate confidently, calmly, and persuasively when it matters most. The course will involve a blend of dynamic discussion, interactive exercises, and individual feedback covering movement, posture, gesture, voice, eye contact, facial expression, communication style, dealing with confrontation, and how to cultivate presence. You will leave the course with actionable strategies for replacing unhelpful behaviors, so you can immediately be more impactful in your communication and create lasting change.

Prerequisite: Advanced-level proficiency in spoken English. While this course focuses on addressing challenges women leaders commonly face, the techniques apply to people from all backgrounds.
