You landed the interview. Congratulations! Now what? In its essence, an interview is a conversation with an opportunity to influence. Successful interviewees develop specific skills and techniques for preparing their answers and presentation before the big day. This course is for anyone wanting to learn interviewing fundamentals, whether it be for podcasts, TV appearances, or landing a new job. Through lectures, open discussion, and interactive exercises, you’ll discover everything you need to know about interview preparation, messaging, and effective delivery. You’ll go through the process to define and refine your own capabilities, identify three key competencies you’ll want to focus on, and successfully triangulate for clarity and relevance. We will engage in all aspects of compelling delivery, focusing on confidence and character. We will harness your personal style, exercise effective mindsets for poise, and help you stay calm and eloquent while in high-stakes communication. After defining your talking points and subpoints, you will participate in exercises that will help you develop your relevant stories and identify a variety of ways to conclude the conversation.

Students will walk away with best-practice strategies for developing fluid, dynamic conversations and maximizing success. They'll have the tools to confidently say "yes" to any interview requests that come their way.

Advanced-level proficiency in spoken English is required.
