Product management is one of the most important roles in today’s business world. To achieve success in this role, you need to understand the frameworks and the tools that successful product managers use every day to solve common and not-so-common problems. Armed with this knowledge, you will be able to think on your feet and respond quickly to the challenges that arise in your PM career as you work to generate impactful product solutions. In this course, we will study industry-standard frameworks for tackling product problems, such as AARRR (business metrics), RICE (prioritizing), and HEART (user experience), as well as other frameworks developed by the instructor. We will discover how to identify potential users and their needs, generate new solutions, and suggest improvements to existing products from top companies. We will also explore prioritization techniques that will help us decide which solutions to build first, and we will focus on how to define and analyze the right metrics that show the impact of our solutions. Students will actively participate in class, practicing the techniques they are learning by responding to case studies and to product questions such as “how can Google Maps be improved?” or “how can the cause of a drop in Facebook Events usage be found?” By the end of this course, students will be familiar with an array of typical real-world product management challenges and an understanding of which solutions to bring to them.

This course is designed for individuals who are seeking to develop or advance their career in product management.

Ezgi Demirayak, Product Manager, Intel

Ezgi Demirayak builds immersive experiences across virtual reality, mobile, and web for Intel Sports. Before Intel, she worked in software engineering and product marketing at Mercedes-Benz and Philip Morris International. Demirayak received an MEng in engineering management from Cornell.
