This immersive course focuses on building and sustaining relationships. It is highly experiential and hands-on. You will learn to create connection and trust through deeper listening to others and increased awareness of your own feelings, perceptions, and behaviors. These skills can be applied with friends and family and at work.
The course is based on peer-to-peer learning in small groups where you can practice skills in real time. Wisdom in groups can also help uncover previously unseen aspects of yourself. We use a combination of class exercises and T-groups (“T” is for training), each with a facilitator and up to 12 participants. T-group is an experiential way of learning about yourself and others that is the cornerstone of the flagship “Interpersonal Dynamics” course at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
This course requires your full engagement and active participation. Interacting closely with others also requires a good stock of emotional resilience. You will experiment with listening fully, giving and receiving honest feedback, and expressing yourself more authentically. We hope you will leave with a greater understanding of how to communicate effectively in a diversity of environments so you can develop satisfying interpersonal relationships.
