Are you ready to transform your communication skills and boost your confidence? Communication is deeply intertwined with our identities, life experiences, and the broader societal contexts we inhabit. While effective communication may come naturally to some, it can be a journey of self-discovery and growth for others. This course invites students to become empowered and confident communicators by unraveling the threads of cultural influence, delving into the psychology of interaction dynamics, and fostering a constructive and supportive community of growth.

In this interactive course, we'll begin by dissecting the roots of fear and identifying our personal triggers. We will gain valuable insights into the neurobiology and psychology that underlie the fight-or-flight response in a communication context. Through lecture and group discussion, together we'll uncover the unconscious behavior patterns that often hinder us from becoming effective, confident, and empowered communicators. We will also equip ourselves with practical tools to recognize and respond thoughtfully to fear and stress triggers, ensuring that we no longer react impulsively but instead create a purposeful communication approach that thrives in any circumstance. By the end of the course, students will have a new self-awareness, comprehension of the neurobiology of rejection and its impact on communication patterns, and the skills to practice empowered and confident communication in their lives moving forward.

Advanced-level proficiency in spoken English is required.
