What most of the world does not know about acting training programs is that within them, actors are actually being “trained” to be expansive, openhearted, physically embodied, vocally sophisticated, and emotionally available human beings. “Acting School” should be called “Person School” because we, as actors, leave those programs softened, awakened, alive, and empowered with the ability to “own a room” with total ease. What if you could walk through the exercises of those programs, explore those same tools, and emerge invigorated inside of your chosen profession?

In this course, we will use the training methods, games, and practices taught and explored in rigorous acting training programs like A.C.T, NYU, and Juilliard to develop presence, to become active listeners, to learn what it truly means to give and receive, and to reembody the long-lost art and energy of play. We will learn these skills for their own sake and for the sake of the role they might play in a business context. Playful creativity engenders innovation, ease, and joy in our work lives. In this course, we will delve into the power of acting techniques to expand our business acumen, to be our authentic selves, and to make our work lives more fun.

She received an MFA in acting from UC Davis, and is a working stage, on-camera, and voiceover actor.
