To stand out from the crowd in the world of video, you need to truly master the craft of editing. The good news is that technology has made the art of editing accessible to everyone. This course is for those who have taken VID 42: “Editing Video from Start to Finish,” or have beginner-level knowledge of iMovie or Windows Movie Maker and are ready to move up to more advanced techniques using Adobe Premiere Pro. It’s designed to help you grow your skills and take on bigger projects, captivate your viewers with a professional flourish, expand your toolbox of visual language, and develop your own unique aesthetic.

During this course, we will cover the finer points of video editing and hone your technical skills. We will cover cutting tools and cutting on the action to make videos tighter and more effective. You will learn how to manage complex projects and use proxy footage to ease entry into high-definition 4K video. You will learn to color correct footage for style and continuity, and how to do audio editing and correction. You’ll get a chance to work with green-screen footage and simple visual effects. You can work with raw media (provided) or work on your own projects. By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge and experience to manage your own video projects and continue growing your skills.
