This course is the second of a three-course sequence in Chinese. It is designed for students who can already exchange greetings and basic personal information, and who can read and write pinyin romanization. The course emphasizes conversation and focuses on the acquisition of basic communication skills for travel, business, and everyday use. Students will learn to talk about themselves, family, friends, hobbies, and Chinese study, and they will learn the vocabulary to order common restaurant dishes. By the end of the course, students will also know about 250 characters.

This is the second course in a three-course sequence. Students may enroll in this course without intending to take Level III.
