PHOTO 01 — An Introduction to Photography as Art
No photography experience is required, but general
computer knowledge is necessary. A digital camera with
manual controls, or a film camera with the ability to scan
the film, is required. Students must also have a laptop
computer with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom installed.
(Students will not have access to the Stanford darkroom.)
This is the first in a sequence of three courses on the technical aspects of picture making. This course is an introduction for those with no experience in photography. The second course (Winter) centers on developing a personal style of picture making with group critiques. The third (Spring) is geared toward building a strong portfolio. While these courses build upon one another, each course can be taken independently as well.
