This course is for those who are launching their career, looking to pivot careers, or wanting to identify how they can best leverage their abilities to advance their current career. In this course, we will take a panoramic view of what you can contribute in the workplace. You will mine your personal and professional learning experiences to gain a better understanding of who you are and the value you bring to an organization, and learn how to home in on a path that will lead you to success. Purpose plays an important role in building a meaningful career but often can feel more like an abstract concept rather than one with practical implications. We will learn how to demystify and identify your purpose, leverage that purpose to impact others, and develop a strategy toward career development that aligns with your purpose. Students will come away from the course with a greater understanding of how to achieve career consolidation (when one’s personal identity aligns with one's social identity in the workplace). Come prepared to participate in activities, be reflective, hear narratives of meaningful work, and develop a practical plan to pave the way to your ideal career.
