PRIOR UPDATES:
3/12/20: Registered Spring Students:
President Marc Tessier-Lavigne recently announced that Stanford University will begin spring quarter on time, using virtual learning, rather than in-person classes, until further notice. This is a continuation of the policy that was established for the end of winter quarter. Continuing Studies will be following suit, transitioning as many of our courses as possible into an online format.

We hope you will remain enrolled in your spring course. We have already had great success transitioning the final sessions of our Winter courses to online. Both students and instructors reached out to let us know how much they enjoyed the opportunity. We firmly believe you will find our online learning community to be as enriching and engaging as it is on campus.

In this transition, we will use an online videoconferencing tool called Zoom. The video session will take place in real time, during the same time when you would normally attend your class. Both you and your instructors will be able to participate from home—or from any convenient location, for that matter.

Please note: due to content, format, and other considerations, not all courses and workshops will be able to make the transition to online. We will reach out soon with additional details specific to your course.

We thank you for your patience, understanding, and support as we navigate these uncertain times.
3/9/20: Cancelled Event: Sibling Rivalry: An Exploration of the Violin and Viola Throughout Music History scheduled for April 11.

3/7/20: All Continuing Studies courses held on Saturday (March 7) and Sunday (March 8) are cancelled.

3/6/20: Stanford University has announced that for the final two weeks of winter quarter, classes at Stanford will not meet in person, and ideally classes will be transitioned to online formats in place of in-person instruction. Made with public health and safety firmly in mind, this decision applies to Stanford Continuing Studies WINTER courses as well.

Students enrolled in a Continuing Studies WINTER course:
Winter courses will no longer be held on campus. We are working with instructors now to determine which courses can be transitioned to an online format, and which cannot. Once this is established, you will receive an email from our office with details specific to your course.

Students enrolled in a Continuing Studies SPRING course:
We will provide updates regarding Spring courses as more information becomes available.

Questions? Please email: [email protected]. We will do our best to respond to questions you may have. Please note that during this period of rapid transitioning, there may be a delay in response. We thank you in advance for your patience.
