The Continuing Studies Program provides three grading options: No Grade Requested (NGR), Letter, or Credit. The NGR grade option is the default. Grade options can be changed any time before the last class meeting. Just complete and submit this form to change your grade option. You may also change your grade option in the Enrollment Status section of the website. Or, if you prefer, you can email your grade option choice to continuingstudies-gradeoption@stanford.edu.
You have three grading options for this Continuing Studies Program course:
No Grade Requested (NGR) - no written work required
If you do not wish to receive credit for this course, select the No Grade Requested (NGR) option below. This means you may participate in the discussions and course work, but will not be required to complete the end-of-term assignment. Courses for which you have received a grade of NGR will not appear on your transcript.
Letter Grade: A, B, C, D or NP (not passed) - written work required
The NGR grade option is the default. If you wish to receive a Letter Grade for a course, you must submit this form to change to Letter. You must also complete the written work for the course, or you will receive a grade of No Pass (NP). Grade options may not be changed after the last class meeting.
Credit (CR)/No Credit (NC) - written work required
The NGR grade option is the default. If you wish to receive credit for this course, but do not want to receive a Letter Grade, select the Credit/No Credit option above. You are required to complete the end-of-term assignment to receive a CR.
Please note: If your instructor has chosen "CR/NC" as the grade option
for your course, all students will be graded on a credit or no credit
basis unless you change your grade option to "No Grade Requested (NGR)."
In other words, letter grades are not available and CR/NC or NGR are the
only two options available once your instructor has chosen this grade system.
If you have questions, please contact the CSP Registrar’s office at (650) 725-2650.
