When does registration begin?
Summer quarter registration begins May 19,
at 8:30 a.m. Classes begin the week of
March 31.
What is the registration deadline?
For courses that begin the week of March 31,
the Summer quarter registration period
(to pay the $30 registration fee) ends at 5:00 p.m.
All registration received after that date will be charged a $45 registration fee.
For courses beginning after March 31, the registration
deadline is one week before the course begins. No registrations will be accepted after the third
class meeting of any course.
How do I register for a course?
Continuing Studies accepts registrations online, by fax, by mail, or in person. A registration form can be downloaded and sent in as follows:
Fax: (650) 725-4248
Mail/In person:
482 Galvez Street
Stanford, CA 94305-6079
How can I get into a limited enrollment course?
No matter which method of registration you use, register as close to 8:30 a.m. as possible on the first day of registration. We recommend online registration, because you will know immediately whether or not you're in the course.
How can I tell if the course is full?
Please check the course listings; a note will be added if the course is full.
What happens if a course is full? How will I know if I got into a course?
If you register online, you will receive notification of your status immediately. If the confirmation page states that you are registered for a course, you are in the course. If the confirmation page states any other status (course full, etc.), you are NOT in the course. Please print the confirmation page for your records.
If you register by any other method, you will receive a letter by mail in about two weeks. If you got into the course, the letter will contain materials about your course. If you did not get into the course, the letter will state that the course is full. If you have not received anything from us and it is less than one week before your course begins, please call us at (650) 725-2650.
Can I get on a waiting list if a class is full?
Although Continuing Studies does not maintain an official waiting list,
we do hold onto paper and faxed registration forms for full classes.
If a class is full you may fax or send us a registration form and we will
call you if a space opens up in the course. We do encourage you to register for another course.
May I sit in on a course before I register?
No, you must register and pay for your courses before attending any class meetings. We have a generous drop policy which allows you to attend two class meetings to "try out" a course. If, after two class meetings, you decide the course is not right for you, you may receive a full tuition refund by notifying us in writing. The registration fee is nonrefundable.
What if the course I enrolled in gets cancelled?
Continuing Studies reserves the right to cancel a course for any reason, including insufficient enrollment. In the event that a course is cancelled, you will receive a full refund, including registration fee. (The registration fee is not returned if you are enrolled in other courses.)
