ART 222

Creating a Photographic Portfolio

(ART 222)

This course is for photographers with a body of work they would like to edit and enlarge into a coherent project with a narrative or descriptive text accompanying the images. The course format will involve ongoing analysis and critique, writing or imagemaking assignments related to the project, as well as visits from guest speakers (e.g., curators, gallery owners, graphic designers) to discuss specific aspects of bringing such a project to successful completion. Through meetings with the instructor and with help from class participants, students will work toward completion of text and layout for a professional monograph, exhibition catalogue, gallery-ready portfolio, or personal book.

Brigitte Carnochan, Photographer
