PDV 67
(PDV 67)
Mindfulness is a way of consciously working
with the stressful challenges in our day-to-day
lives. By cultivating awareness, we can develop the
capacity to experience each moment, no matter how
difficult or intense, with greater clarity, balance, and
joyful participation.
Through mindfulness meditation, gentle mindful
movement (yoga and qigong), selected readings, and
group discussion, we gain access to powerful inner
resources for learning, growing, relaxation, and healing,
even in the midst of stress, pain, and illness.
The program is modeled after the work of Jon
Kabat-Zinn, PhD, and was featured in the Bill Moyers
television special, Healing and the Mind. Two decades
of published scientific research indicates that the
majority of people who complete this program report
lasting improvements, including greater energy and
enthusiasm for life, increased ability to relax, decreased
physical and psychological symptoms of stress, reductions
in pain levels, and improved self-esteem.
Schedule:
