Event Description

Brahms Birthday Bash (EVT 198)

Help us celebrate Brahms' 175th birthday with an evening of wonderful chamber music performed by members of the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra. We’ll learn about the life of Johannes Brahms, from brothel pianist to famous composer. Our musical party will include a Brahms trivia contest, prizes for the best 19th-century costume, a birthday cake, and more!

The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra’s patented blend of joyful music making, top-class performers and concerts have attracted rave reviews and large audiences across the Bay Area. The Brahms Birthday Bash will feature principal players from the orchestra: violinists Robin Sharp and Debra Fong; violists Benjamin Simon and Madeline Prager; and cellists Dana Putnam Fonteneau and Eric Gaenslen performing two great String Sextets. This event will be hosted by San Francisco Chamber Orchestra music director Benjamin Simon.
