Basic Drawing (ART 22)
This course will focus on developing fundamental drawing skills, with an emphasis on line, shape, mass, volume, texture, light, and shade. Students will work from still life and the human figure as they learn about space, perspective, proportion, and composition. While classes will focus on studio work, there will also be lectures and demonstrations to help illustrate the weekly lessons.
Although this course will be devoted to learning basic drawing
skills, students of all experience levels are welcome.
Laura Klein
Lecturer in Continuing Studies
Laura Klein received a BA in studio art from Stanford
and an MFA in painting/printmaking from Yale. She
exhibits her artwork extensively in the Bay Area and
on the East Coast.
